Our continuous research work and technological investment means that we are able to offer our customers a cutting-edge pool of machines.

Our offset printing department comprises 6-colour Heidelberg, Roland and Komori machines, all with in-line varnishing options. In particular, the Komori Lithrone G40 boasts HUV technology to ensure brilliant printing on uncoated and glossy paper as well as coloured paper and special materials. This technology also allows in-line varnishing.

Our digital printing department uses HP Indigo technology to ensure a quality level comparable with offset printing. Using Indigo, we can produce high-quality limited edition projects, manage variable data, apply up to two Pantone colours and print using translucent ink.

Our digital and offset machines ensure perfect colour fidelity as well as special print effects to enhance the editorial project.

Hot stamping - A finishing technique for printed items that produces gold, silver or coloured metallic effects, applied by pressing foil onto the paper using a heated die.
Raised-finish hot stamping - A process that combines hot stamping with a raised effect.
Hot stamping with micro-etching - A variation on hot stamping in which the foil applied to the paper is textured to create light-refracting effects.
Dry printing - A process that allows us to create raised or debossed effects in the paper using a stamp.
Holographic hot stamping - A hot stamping process that produces iridescent, three-dimensional effects using holographic films.
Gloss screen printing - A process that uses a transparent effect to add shine to details of the printed item or to the whole printing table.
Edge gilding - A technique that allows the outer edges of a book to be coloured using traditional palettes as well as fluorescent and metallic colours.
Artistic edge gilding - A technique that allows etching or colouring of the desired motif on the outer edges of a book.
Angled edge gilding - A technique that allows us to decorate a book by printing the cover, or part of the cover, over the edge of the book. This creates an unconventional, modern look.
Matt lamination - A technique in which a protective matt film is applied to embellish the cover of a published project, making it smooth to the touch.
Gloss lamination - A technique in which a glossy film is applied to embellish the cover or other pages of a published project, enhancing the quality of the paper and the finished product with brighter, more brilliant colours.

Woodwork - Use of wood in publishing projects for a natural, hand-crafted result.
Printing with pastel colours - A printing technique that reproduces pastel colours on paper or cloth.
Plaque printing - A technique that allows a printed sheet to be applied even to carvings and then cut to size on the cover or back cover of a book.
Laser cutting - A technique that allows us to cut particular portions of a sheet using lasers. This means that we are able to etch any type of graphic onto paper, even if it is very tiny.

To us, a binding is a distinguishing feature of a product. This is why, for each new project, we hand-pick bindings from the wide range of types we have available.

Stitched paperback - The body of the book is stitched in various signatures (sextodecimos, octavos, etc.) and glued to the cover.
Cardboard - A binding in which the stitched body of the book is applied to a cardboard cover which is covered with paper or cloth. This is generally finished off with endpapers and gutters.
Cardboard and cloth - A technique applied to cardboard-bound books where the spine and part of the cover and back cover are covered with cloth or another covering material.
Raw-cut binding - A technique applied to cardboard-bound books with the cut on three sides of the book, leaving the cardboard inside the cover visible. This cardboard can also be gilded.
Bodonian - A binding in which the cover and back cover are made up of two matching plates that are glued to the front and back covers.
Swiss binding - Cardboard with the book applied to a backing board.
Dutch cardboard - A type of binding that imitates cardboard using high-density paper. This special feature keeps the cover soft and flexible.
Hardcover paperback - A binding created by applying a matching cover to a paperback. This increases the thickness of the binding and leaves the spine free so that the book is able to open more freely.
Tout carton - A binding that allows a book to open to 180°. This binding is created by gluing each quarto to the next.
Binding with 180° opening - A binding in which the body of the book is fixed using a flexible and resistant glue, allowing the book to be opened to 180°, giving you a full view of adjacent pages.
Japanese binding - A type of binding made by gluing quartos backwards. This technique is mainly used when printing on very fine paper to prevent ink rubbing off.
Visible thread - A twist-stitched paperback in which the stitches between the signatures are left visible.
Unconventional bindings - We are able to experiment with bindings using visible threads that break the traditional rules.
Wire-O spiral - A unique binding technique in which sheets are drilled and spirals of different shapes and colours are applied. This allows the product to be opened up to 360° or bent onto itself.
Panoramic binding - A type of binding that allows a panoramic view but that also enables you to flick through the contents.
Staples - A binding with two staples in the spine.
Indexing - A process that involves cutting into the body of the book to categorise the content (or divide it into sections).
Singer sewn binding - A type of binding in which the thread is visible on the outside. This technique is particularly well-suited to fairly thin books and is often used as an alternative to staples, to embellish products with just a few pages.
